Cruises & Cameras is Steve Frankel's blog that he uses to share his interests in cruising and photography.  Steve Frankel has decades of experience as professional and serious-amateur photographer.  He worked his way through college as a professional photographer, darkroom technician and camera salesman and has accumulated more than 30,000 of photos taken on cruises and yacht racing events during the past 14 years.

For more than a decade he and his wife, Jill Grossbard, have been avid cruisers, booking 3-4 cruises a year; mostly on the small ships that carry from 300-1100 passengers in unabashed luxury.  Their favorite lines are Seabourn, Silversea, Regent, Azamara, Windstar and Crystal; and they tend to book cruises are 2-3 weeks and combine photo opportunities, fine dining and wines, and lots of sea days in which to enjoy fascinating speakers, stimulating seminars and good conversation.  He also enjoys running his consulting business from the ships, which he likens to being paid to cruise.

Recently Steve purchased a franchise of Cruise Planners, a travel company affiliated with American Express.  He  tries to spend about at least 2 months a year at sea.  He calls his franchise Incredible Cruising, and he publishes the Cruises and Cameras  blog in its full-form on his website, cruises-and-cameras.com and in abbreviated form on his Incredible Cruising web page (incrediblecruising.com).  He has owned consulting companies for many years, was formerly Director of Information Technologies at Pomona College, and he has directed research activities at some of the nation’s largest school districts.  He has a doctorate from Indiana University in Information Systems and Marketing; was a Contributing Editor of The Washingtonian magazine; and he has written several successful books and hundreds of articles on personal computing and consumer electronics for a wide variety of publications.

Steve views Cruising & Cameras as a means of combining his passions for photography, cruise travel and writing; while at the same time establishing a community of like-minded individuals who can be served by a travel agency that focuses on their unique needs and interests.  He wants to make Cruises & Cameras (cruises-and-cameras.com) and Incredible Cruising  (incrediblecruising.com) the primier websites for those obsessed with taking great photos while cruising, and choosing the best cruise lines, cruise ships, destinations and cameras.
